The Detroit Bass Fest returns Sunday, September 27, 2009.
Its mission is to provide the youth of Michigan the tools to learn about the rewards, tradition and rich history of the bass guitar; both electric and acoustic. This experience is no longer available from their learning institutions, because of school cut backs.
For the adults, it's a chance to interact with other musicians and learn new techniques and fundamentals. Through Detroit Bass Fest, participants will explore a variety of disciplines including math, social/cultural studies, foreign language, several playing techniques and an appreciation for the arts, resulting in growth within themselves for a more well-rounded musician and individual.
